Berean Baptist Church (Augusta) Welcomes You.

Missions Outreach

At Berean Baptist Church, we believe Missions are the heartbeat of the church. We believe in supporting foreign as well as home missions.

Brother Shane Mallard grew up in Southeast Missouri. In 1993, he got married and joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Whiteman AFB in Knob Noster, MO. After visiting Calvary Baptist Church for several months, he was saved in February 1994. His wife Tammy was saved in November of the same year. In May of 1996, Bro. Mallard surrendered to the call to preach. In January of 1997, he and Tammy moved to Springfield where he attended Bible college for a year and trained under the leadership of Pastor Leon Gray and worked in the College and Career Sunday School Class at the Berean Baptist Church. In May of 1999 the Lord moved their family back to Knob Noster, MO to Calvary Baptist Church to finish the Bible Institute under Pastor Ables. In February 2001 the Lord moved the Mallards again to Springfield to the Berean Baptist Church. Pastor Ables was now the Pastor, Bro. Mallard would be his assistant and would teach in the Teen Class and eventually in the College and Career class. After being on staff about three years a church in Southeast Missouri contacted Pastor Ables. This church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, was started in 1973, out of Berean Baptist Church. They were in need of a pastor. The Mallards served there for 15 years. In 2018 the Lord allowed the Mallards to go on a Missions trip to Western Australia. While there, God burdened Shane's heart for the people and called his family there to plant New testament churches. In 2019 the Lord allowed Shane and Tammy to go back to Western Australia and receive further confirmation of this call. In July of 2019 Shane resigned from Emmanuel Baptist Church and has begun deputation to go to Australia as church planting missionaries. Pastor Mallard and Tammy have four daughters, Taylor is 20, Molly is 17, Emma is 15, and Riah is 4. In 2020 they celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary.

Pastor Bruce Carr's testimony - I accepted Christ as my Saviour on 22nd October 1983. I didn't understand everything except that there was a great weight lifted and my life would never be the same. I truly now understand what Paul meant when he penned the words, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new", II Corinthians 5:17. My whole outlook on this world changed, I now had a purpose and a will for my life and that was to follow my Saviour and be obedient to Him. In September of 1989 God called me to preach. My heart's desire was to be trained by my church and my Pastor and in March of 1996 the Lord led us to Calvary Baptist Church, Knob Noster, Missouri. It was during our Missions Conference in October of 1996 the Lord dealt with me about being a missionary. In September of the next year, one month before our Missions Conference, I surrendered and made it public of God's call upon my life. I was already in the Bible Institute at this time only now I had a clearer vision of God's will for my life. Under the watchful training of my pastors over those years, Pastor Jeff Ables and Pastor Jeff Merrick, I was trained, ordained, and sent out as a missionary of my home church, Calvary Baptist Church, Knob Noster. On 30th April 2005 my wife and I along with our five children landed in Perth, Western Australia. We spent six months getting settled into a new country, and being a blessing to Calvary Baptist Church, Australind, Western Australia, Pastor Chris Manessis. On 6th January 2006 we had our first Special Service on a Saturday with many supporting churches in attendance along with a few local visitors. We are blessed to say that we still have one of those who attended that day with us; Mrs. Trish Rowney. Bro. Vince went home with the Lord a few years ago. Since that day, we have held services in the Busselton Family Centre, where we have seen many come and go over the last 14 years. We will always continue to preach the whole council of God's Word.
